The banks in this guide hold the deposits, clear the payments and underwrite the deals on which the world economy runs. LIKE® Magazine's Markets department maps them bank by bank: who leads each group in October 2026, what businesses it actually runs, where it operates, how large it is on a dated, sourced ranking, and how to reach it through the contact route it itself publishes.

The roster is 50 banks, ranked by S&P Global Market Intelligence, Top 100 Banks in the World 2025, on assets at the end of 2024. There is no separate investment-bank list: Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and the investment-banking divisions of the universal banks are entries in their own right, with investment banking stated in their businesses. Sberbank is excluded, named in the guide's notes, because it could not be verified to this standard from official sources. Every unverifiable field says so plainly.
