Before there were supply chains there were fairs, and the fair is still where the physical economy introduces itself: the new machine tool, the new aircraft order, the new vintage, the new phone. This guide maps the world's great trade fairs sector by sector — 42 fairs in 11 countries.

For each fair: where it sits and when it next opens (as the organiser publishes — never projected), the organising body and its leadership, verified name by name against 2025–26 sources, in a season of successions: the CTA, the GSMA and the HKTDC all changed chief executives inside eighteen months. Each entry states the fair's scale where — and only where — the organiser publishes it, with the counting method named where it matters, and how a company exhibits or a trade visitor attends. Four fairs publish no audited scale usable to this standard, and their entries say so.

Scale (as published): bauma 2025 (Messe Munchen closing release): around 600,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and regions and 3,601 exhibitors from 57 nations. DISCREPANCY: Messe Munchen's own bauma NETWORK factsheet (Nov 2025) gives 3,548 exhibitors, 605,974 visitors and 614,000 sqm, marked 'not yet FKM certified' — see notes.

Website: bauma.de · Contact: info@bauma.de (published on the Messe Munchen bauma NETWORK factsheet)

Flagged discrepancy (see scale): the April 2025 closing release's rounded figures (3,601 exhibitors; around 600,000 visitors) differ from the November 2025 factsheet's precise but uncertified figures (3,548; 605,974). Both are Messe Munchen publications; the certified FKM figure was still pending in the factsheet consulted.

Website: gitex.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Venue/season change verified against DWTC's own announcement made on day two of GITEX Global 2025: GITEX and Gulfood both relocate to the expanded Dubai Exhibition Centre in 2026, Gulfood continuing across both venues. Visitor-scale gap: no DWTC-published total attendance for 2025 was found.

Website: logimat-messe.de · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Title variance flagged: Stefan Lohnert is 'Managing Director' in Messe Stuttgart's own German-derived releases and 'President' in English trade coverage of the same releases; the German title is used here. LogiMAT spin-offs (China, India) are separate editions and are not counted in the Stuttgart scale.

Website: cantonfair.org.cn · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Counting-method note: Canton Fair 'participating enterprises' and booth counts are not comparable with Western exhibitor counts, and buyer figures are cumulative phase counts published by the organiser/state media, not independently audited figures.

Website: hktdc.com (fair pages under the HKTDC event portal) · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Date correction flagged: briefing material for this guide suggested an October 2024 start for Sophia Chong. The HKTDC's announcement is dated August 2025 with effect from 1 October 2025, and HKTDC releases in September 2025 still styled her 'Acting Executive Director' ahead of the effective date. The 2025 date is used here. Scale gap: no standalone audited figure for this fair (see scale field).

Distinctiveness: The world's oldest (1909) and, by exhibitor count, largest air show; its order announcements and the presence of the French head of state at the inauguration make it the aerospace industry's sovereign showcase.

Access / entry: Split format: Monday–Thursday trade-only with professional accreditation; Friday–Sunday open to the general public on paid tickets. Exhibiting (stands, chalets, static aircraft display) is sold by SIAE.

Website: siae.fr (show site: paris-air-show.com) · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Pre-show vs closing exhibitor-count discrepancy (2,400 vs 2,498) is flagged in the scale field. Contract values announced at the 2025 show (around USD 150 billion in some round-ups) are press estimates, not SIAE-published figures, and are not used here.

15. FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW — FARNBOROUGH, HAMPSHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM

Founded 1948 · Aerospace, defence and space

Calendar / next edition: Biennial, July (even years); the 2026 edition was held 20–24 July 2026. 2028 dates not yet published in the official sources consulted for this entry.

Organizer: Farnborough International Limited (FIL) — events company owned by ADS Group, the UK aerospace, defence, security and space trade association

Organizer leadership: Gareth Rogers, Chief Executive Officer of Farnborough International (quoted as CEO throughout FIL's 2025–26 airshow releases). Per farnboroughairshow.com news releases, March 2025–2026.

Venue: Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre

Scale (as published): 2024 edition (FIL closing figures): over 100,000 visitors; 1,500 exhibitors from 60 countries; 90 civil and military aircraft; 390 delegations; more than USD 105 billion in commercial deals announced. The 2026 edition (20–24 July 2026) sold out 12 months ahead and added a sixth hall, making it the largest in the show's history; final 2026 figures were not published in the sources consulted.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: aerospace, defence and space primes, supply-chain companies and national pavilions (63%+ of 2026 exhibitors international). Attendees: trade and delegation visitors Monday–Thursday; the Friday 'Pioneers of Tomorrow' day admits 20,000+ public/STEM visitors.

Media / press: Accredited media programme with a dedicated media centre and a live-streamed flying display (178,000+ views in 2024).

Distinctiveness: The UK's sovereign air show and, in its alternating years with Paris, the Western aerospace industry's principal deal-making stage; its chalet line and delegation programme (390 delegations in 2024) are its signature.

Access / entry: Trade-only Monday–Thursday by paid trade pass with industry verification; Friday is a public/STEM showcase day. Exhibiting (halls, chalets, static display) is sold by FIL and sells out well in advance.

Website: farnboroughairshow.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website (FIL publishes a sales contact route on the show site)

FIL's published deal value (USD 105bn+, 2024) counts announcements made at the show, not orders placed with the organiser. The 2026 sell-out and Hall 6 addition are organiser-published; closing attendance for 2026 is a named gap.

16. AUTOMECHANIKA FRANKFURT — FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY

Founded 1971 · Automotive aftermarket

Calendar / next edition: Biennial, September (even years); the 2026 edition was held in September 2026. 2028 dates not yet published in the official sources consulted for this entry.

Organizer: Messe Frankfurt GmbH — trade-fair company owned by the City of Frankfurt (60%) and the State of Hesse (40%)

Organizer leadership: Wolfgang Marzin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Messe Frankfurt; Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt (the board member responsible for the mobility and consumer-goods flagships). Per Messe Frankfurt corporate press releases, 2025–2026 (messefrankfurt.com).

Venue: Frankfurt Exhibition Grounds (Messe Frankfurt)

Scale (as published): Automechanika Frankfurt 2024 (Messe Frankfurt closing figures, as reported in trade press): around 4,200 exhibitors from 80 countries and 108,000 trade visitors from 172 countries. See research notes on verification tier.

Media / press: Accredited press programme; the flagship Frankfurt edition anchors a global Automechanika brand family run by Messe Frankfurt licensees and subsidiaries.

Distinctiveness: The world's leading aftermarket fair: the entire repair value chain, from parts manufacturing to the workshop, in one grounds — the reference edition for some 13 Automechanika events worldwide.

Access / entry: Trade visitors only, by paid ticket with professional registration. Exhibiting is sold by Messe Frankfurt by product group.

Website: automechanika.messefrankfurt.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Scale figures rest on Messe Frankfurt closing-release numbers as carried by trade press; not separately FKM-verified in this pass — flagged in research notes.

17. IAA MOBILITY — MUNICH, GERMANY

Founded 1897 (as the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung; relaunched as IAA Mobility in Munich in 2021) · Mobility, automotive and transport

Calendar / next edition: Biennial, September (odd years); the 2025 edition was held 9–14 September 2025. 2027 dates not yet published in the official sources consulted for this entry.

Organizer: VDA — Verband der Automobilindustrie (German Association of the Automotive Industry), with Messe Munchen as co-organiser and venue operator

Organizer leadership: Hildegard Muller, President of the VDA (the association that owns and organises the IAA); venue/co-organiser side: Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel, CEOs of Messe Munchen. VDA title as published by the association; Messe Munchen titles per its 2024–26 press releases. See research notes on verification tier for the VDA entry.

Venue: Trade Fair Center Messe Munchen (Summit) and open-space displays across central Munich

Scale (as published): IAA Mobility 2025 (VDA/Messe Munchen closing figures, as reported in trade press): more than 750 exhibitors and over 500,000 visitors across the Summit and the city-centre Open Space. See research notes on verification tier.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: carmakers, suppliers, micromobility, cycling and technology companies. Attendees: industry delegates at the Messe Munchen Summit; the Munich public in the free city-centre Open Space.

Media / press: Accredited media programme centred on press day at the Summit; the Open Space is designed for broadcast and social coverage.

Distinctiveness: The reinvention of the classic Frankfurt motor show as a city-wide mobility festival: a B2B summit at the fairgrounds fused with free public displays in Munich's squares — the model other motor shows now copy.

Access / entry: Hybrid: the Summit is trade-only (paid professional tickets); the Open Space in central Munich is free and open to the public. Exhibiting is sold jointly through the VDA/Messe Munchen IAA organisation.

Website: iaa-mobility.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Messe Munchen's own 2025 reporting names IAA Mobility and bauma as the two highest-visitor events in Germany in 2025. Visitor counts combine the ticketed Summit and estimated Open Space footfall — a counting-method caveat when comparing with trade-only shows.

18. SEMA SHOW — LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, UNITED STATES

Founded 1967 · Automotive aftermarket and specialty equipment

Calendar / next edition: Annual, early November (Tuesday–Friday, overlapping the AAPEX week in Las Vegas). Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Organizer leadership: Mike Spagnola, President and Chief Executive Officer of SEMA (in post since 2022). Title as published on SEMA's corporate leadership pages; see research notes on verification tier.

Venue: Las Vegas Convention Center

Scale (as published): Organiser-reported (SEMA, unaudited): recent editions have drawn approximately 160,000 industry attendees and some 2,400 exhibiting companies. SEMA does not publish an independently audited attendance figure — see notes.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: performance, styling, accessory, restyling and tool/equipment manufacturers, including hundreds of first-time exhibitors in the New Products Showcase. Attendees: buyers, distributors, retailers, builders and media from the automotive aftermarket.

Media / press: Large accredited media programme; the SEMA Battle of the Builders and New Products Showcase Awards are built for media coverage. No public admission keeps the floor trade-only.

Distinctiveness: The aftermarket's global stage: thousands of project vehicles and the industry's largest new-products showcase, strictly closed to the public — its trade-only purity is the point.

Access / entry: Trade only, enforced: attendees must document automotive-industry affiliation; no consumer tickets exist (the Friday SEMA Fest is a separate public concert event). Exhibiting is sold by SEMA with priority space selection by seniority points.

Website: semashow.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Scale caveat: SEMA's attendance figures are association-reported round numbers, not audited counts; treat as order-of-magnitude only. The co-timed AAPEX (owned by other associations) is a separate show and is not counted here.

19. ITB BERLIN — BERLIN, GERMANY

Founded 1966 · Travel and tourism (B2B)

Calendar / next edition: Annual, March (three days, Tuesday–Thursday). Next edition officially published: 16–18 March 2027, with a revised hall layout using CityCube Berlin as an exhibition hall for the first time.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: national and regional tourism boards, hotels, airlines, tour operators, travel-tech companies. Attendees: tour operators, travel agencies, corporate travel buyers and media — trade only since 2023's format reset (no public days).

Media / press: Accredited media programme at scale; the ITB Berlin Convention is the industry's leading policy forum and is streamed/on-demand via ITB's channels.

Distinctiveness: The world's leading travel trade show since 1966: every significant tourism nation exhibits, and its convention sets the industry's policy agenda; the ITB brand now spans Berlin, Asia, China, India and, from November 2026, ITB Americas in Guadalajara.

Access / entry: Trade visitors only, by paid ticket with professional verification; the ITB Buyers Circle admits vetted senior buyers. Exhibiting is sold by Messe Berlin, largely by national/regional pavilion.

Website: itb.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Format note: ITB Berlin dropped its public weekend and is now a pure three-day B2B show — older guide editions describing public days are out of date. The EUR 47 billion 'deals' figure is organiser-reported survey material, flagged as such.

Media / press: Accredited media programme with an on-site media centre; WTM's Ministers' Summit (with UN Tourism) is its policy signature.

Distinctiveness: London's global travel marketplace since 1980 and the anchor of RX's travel portfolio (with Arabian Travel Market and WTM Latin America/Africa as regional siblings).

Access / entry: Trade only: free registration for verified travel-trade professionals, media and students on application; exhibiting is sold by RX with national-pavilion organisation through tourism boards.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: Middle East and global tourism boards, hotel groups, airlines and travel-tech companies. Attendees: regional and international travel buyers, tour operators and media.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; ATM is the Middle East travel industry's principal press and policy platform, run alongside the DWTC's own events calendar.

Access / entry: Trade only, by registration with industry verification (free for trade visitors); exhibiting is sold by RX, with hosted-buyer and exhibitor-zone packages.

Website: wtmdubai.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

FOOD, HEALTH & THE HOME

22. GULFOOD — DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Founded 1987 · Food and beverage sourcing

Calendar / next edition: Annual, late January / February. The 2026 edition was the first staged simultaneously across DICEC and the Dubai Exhibition Centre under DWTC's dual-venue model. Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Organizer: Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) — Dubai government-owned events and venue organisation

Organizer leadership: Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President, Events & Exhibitions Management, DWTC (the DWTC executive signing for Gulfood and GITEX); Mahir Julfar, Executive Vice President, Venue Services Management, DWTC. Per DWTC announcements, October 2025–October 2026. DWTC's Director General was not named in the Gulfood releases consulted — see research notes.

Venue: Dubai World Trade Centre (DICEC) and, from 2026, also Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai

Scale (as published): Gulfood 2026 (DWTC, via Emirates News Agency WAM, October 2026): the exhibition 'more than doubled in size' and drew over 8,500 exhibitors from 195 countries across the two venues. A total visitor figure for the 2026 edition was not published in the sources consulted.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: food and beverage producers, commodity traders, national pavilions and HoReCa suppliers. Attendees: importers, distributors, supermarket and hospitality buyers, and chefs.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; DWTC issues scale figures through UAE state media (WAM) as well as its own releases.

Distinctiveness: The world's largest annual food-and-beverage sourcing event, and the trading floor for the Gulf's food-import economy; its 2026 doubling across two venues is without precedent for a food fair.

Access / entry: Trade only, by registration with industry verification. Exhibiting is sold by DWTC, heavily through national pavilions and trade-promotion bodies.

Website: gulfood.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

The 8,500-exhibitor figure for 2026 is a step-change from pre-2026 editions (around 5,500 exhibitors) and reflects the two-venue format; DWTC states it in general terms ('over 8,500 exhibitors from 195 countries') without an accompanying audited release — flagged here and in research notes.

23. SIAL PARIS — PARIS (VILLEPINTE), FRANCE

Founded 1964 · Food industry (all sectors)

Calendar / next edition: Biennial, October (even years); SIAL Paris 2026 was held 17–21 October 2026. Next edition follows in October 2028, dates as published by the organiser.

Organizer: Comexposium — French exhibitions group (privately held; food division runs the global SIAL Network)

Organizer leadership: Renaud Hamaide, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Comexposium (group title as published by Comexposium). See research notes on verification tier: group leadership was not re-verified against a 2025–26 Comexposium release in this pass, and no SIAL-specific director is named here for that reason.

Venue: Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre

Scale (as published): SIAL Paris 2024 (Comexposium closing release, 60th anniversary edition): 7,500 exhibitors; 285,000 professionals welcomed (78.5% international); 205 countries represented; 400,000+ products; 650 startups. For the 2026 edition Comexposium announced 8,000 exhibitors and around 295,000 professionals expected (pre-show).

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: food manufacturers and national pavilions across 10 sectors, from dairy and meat to beverages, frozen and foodservice. Attendees: retail and foodservice buyers (an 8,000-strong major-buyer programme), distributors and importers.

Media / press: Accredited media programme under the High Patronage of the President of the French Republic (2024); SIAL Innovation awards anchor press coverage.

Distinctiveness: The world's largest food-industry exhibition by professional attendance, and the flagship of an 11-event SIAL Network across four continents; its SIAL Innovation competition is the industry's reference for new-product trends.

Access / entry: Trade only, by paid visitor badge with professional registration. Exhibiting is sold by Comexposium, largely through national pavilions and sector halls.

Website: sialparis.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Pre-show vs closing figures: Comexposium's 2024 pre-show material 'expected' 285,000 professionals and its closing release states 285,000 'welcomed' — the guide uses the closing release. 2026 figures in this entry are the organiser's pre-show expectations, marked as such, because the edition closed days before compilation.

24. ISM — COLOGNE, GERMANY

Founded 1971 · Sweets and snacks

Calendar / next edition: Annual, late January / early February, run with ProSweets Cologne. Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Website: ism-cologne.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: medical-device, diagnostics, imaging, health-IT and hospital-supplies manufacturers, including large US and Asian national pavilions. Attendees: hospital managers, clinicians, distributors and procurement specialists.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; MEDICA's forum and conference programme (including the German Hospital Day) is a fixture of health-policy coverage.

Distinctiveness: The world's largest medical trade fair: for one week Dusseldorf is the global marketplace for medical technology, with COMPAMED giving its supplier industry a fair of its own next door.

Access / entry: Trade visitors only, by paid ticket with professional registration. Exhibiting is sold by Messe Dusseldorf and its worldwide subsidiaries/representatives, with national-pavilion programmes.

Website: medica-tradefair.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Portfolio note verified in Messe Dusseldorf's own restructure releases: MEDICA sits in Marius Berlemann's operations portfolio (with K and ProWein), while drupa sits directly with CEO Wolfram Diener — a distinction earlier editions of this guide did not draw.

26. WHX DUBAI (WORLD HEALTH EXPO DUBAI, FORMERLY ARAB HEALTH) — DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Founded 1975 (as Arab Health) · Healthcare exhibition and congress

Calendar / next edition: Annual, January/February. The first WHX-branded edition was held 9–12 February 2026 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre. Next edition published as 25–28 January 2027, across the Dubai Exhibition Centre and DWTC (as listed for the 2027 edition; see notes).

Organizer: Informa Markets — B2B events division of Informa PLC; the WHX brand is operated within Informa's partnership structures in Dubai (the WHX events are run by inD, the Informa–Dubai World Trade Centre partnership, per Informa's WHX communications)

Organizer leadership: Stephen A. Carter, Group Chief Executive of Informa PLC (in post since 2013; per Informa Capital Markets Day 2025 and Informa releases to October 2026); Solenne Singer, Senior Vice President, Informa Markets, quoted as the WHX lead executive in the August 2025 WHX launch release. Per Informa PLC releases 2025–2026.

Venue: Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai (2026); Dubai Exhibition Centre and Dubai World Trade Centre (2027)

Scale (as published): WHX Dubai 2026 (Informa pre-show figures): more than 4,300 exhibitors and 235,000 professional visits expected from 180+ countries, with 32 country pavilions. Combined with the co-timed WHX Labs Dubai, Informa announced 'more than 270,000 professionals and over 4,800 exhibitors' for the February 2026 health week. Post-show audited figures were not published in the sources consulted — see research notes.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: medical-device, imaging, diagnostics, infrastructure and digital-health companies and national pavilions. Attendees: hospital executives, clinicians, distributors and health ministries; CME-accredited conferences run alongside.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; the 2026 rebrand and venue move were launched with a city-wide Informa campaign under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Distinctiveness: The Middle East's largest healthcare event for 50 years as Arab Health; the 2026 edition rebranded to WHX, left its DWTC home for the first time, and fused with WHX Labs (formerly Medlab Middle East) into what Informa bills as the world's largest healthcare event.

Access / entry: Trade and healthcare professionals by registration (free visitor registration; paid conference passes for CME congresses). Exhibiting is sold by Informa Markets with national-pavilion programmes.

Website: worldhealthexpo.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

REBRAND VERIFIED: Arab Health's last edition under that name was January 2025 (DWTC). WHX Dubai debuted 9–12 February 2026 at DEC Expo City. Two cautions: (1) Informa's combined WHX + WHX Labs figures (270,000 professionals; 4,800 exhibitors) count two co-timed events and must not be quoted as WHX Dubai alone; (2) the 2027 dates/venues rest on the event's listing as reproduced in reference sources, not on an Informa closing release consulted in this pass.

27. CPHI (CPHI WORLDWIDE) — ROTATING EUROPEAN HOST CITY (2025: FRANKFURT; THE FLAGSHIP ROTATES AMONG FRANKFURT, MILAN AND BARCELONA), GERMANY (2025 EDITION); HOST COUNTRY ROTATES

Venue: Rotating venue — Messe Frankfurt for the 2025 edition

Scale (as published): Not published as a single audited figure. Informa reports CPHI's flagship European edition in organiser round numbers (recent editions: some 2,500+ exhibiting companies and around 60,000 attendees); because no edition-specific audited release was consulted in this pass, the field is recorded as not published — see research notes.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: API, excipient, fine-chemical, packaging, machinery and contract-service (CDMO) companies, co-located with ICSE, P-MEC, InnoPack, BioLIVE and FDF zones. Attendees: pharmaceutical procurement, business-development and regulatory professionals.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; CPHI's annual report and Pharma Awards are its main press vehicles.

Distinctiveness: The pharmaceutical supply chain's global marketplace: the entire chain from ingredients to finished dosage under one roof, and — unusually among the giants in this guide — a flagship that rotates city rather than owning one.

Access / entry: Trade only, by paid registration with industry verification. Exhibiting is sold by Informa Markets by zone, with the CPHI online platform running year-round.

Website: cphi.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Rotating-city note (as briefed): CPHI Worldwide has rotated among Milan, Frankfurt and Barcelona in recent cycles; entries in older guides fixing it to one city are wrong. Scale is a named gap (see scale field).

Media / press: Accredited media programme; ProWein's business report on the world wine market is published with the fair.

Distinctiveness: The world's leading wine-and-spirits trade fair by professional attendance — strictly trade-only, which is precisely its distinction from consumer-facing wine fairs; the satellite ProWine fairs (Shanghai, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Mumbai, Hong Kong) extend the brand.

Access / entry: Trade visitors only, by paid ticket with documented wine-trade affiliation. Exhibiting is sold by Messe Dusseldorf, largely via national and regional pavilions.

Website: prowein.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Per vinitaly.com releases (2025) and OperaWine 2026 reporting — see research notes.

Venue: Veronafiere Exhibition Centre, Verona

Scale (as published): Vinitaly 2025 (57th edition; Veronafiere closing release): 97,000 attendees from more than 130 countries, including over 32,000 international operators and 1,200 top buyers from 71 countries; more than 4,000 exhibitors. DISCREPANCY for 2026: secondary sources variously give 90,000 and 97,000 visitors for the 58th edition — no Veronafiere closing release for 2026 was consulted, so the verified 2025 figures stand.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: Italian and international wine producers and consortia. Attendees: importers, distributors, HoReCa buyers and sommeliers, with a hosted top-buyer programme run with the ICE Trade Agency.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; OperaWine (with Wine Spectator) opens the week, and ministerial attendance makes Vinitaly a fixture of Italian political coverage.

Distinctiveness: The world's largest wine fair by exhibitor count and the showcase of Italian wine: 4,000+ producers in one city, extended by Vinitaly and the City consumer events and, since 2024, Vinitaly.USA in Chicago.

Website: vinitaly.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Leadership succession 2025→2026 at Veronafiere (Danese/Rebughini to Ferro/Bruno) is recorded from the organiser's own event reporting across the two editions; the exact appointment dates were not stated in the sources consulted and are flagged in research notes. 2026 attendance discrepancy also flagged (see scale).

DESIGN, PROPERTY & SPECIALISTS

Website: ambiente.messefrankfurt.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

31. MAISON & OBJET — PARIS (VILLEPINTE), FRANCE

Founded 1995 · Lifestyle, decoration and design

Calendar / next edition: Twice yearly: January (five days) and September (five days, with Paris Design Week). Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Organizer: SAFI — Salons Francais et Internationaux, a subsidiary of Ateliers d'Art de France and RX France, created to run Maison & Objet

Organizer leadership: Not published in the sources consulted for this entry: SAFI's current executive leadership was not verified against a 2025–26 SAFI/RX France source in this pass, so no individual is named — see research notes (named gap).

Venue: Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre

Scale (as published): Organiser-reported (SAFI): recent Paris editions have presented around 2,300 brands/exhibitors and drawn roughly 70,000 visitors per January edition, around half of them international. SAFI does not publish an audited post-show release in the sources consulted — see research notes.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: decoration, furniture, textile, fragrance, tableware and design brands, including a curated 'What's New' selection. Attendees: retailers, interior designers, architects, hoteliers and press.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; the fair's Designer of the Year award and Rising Talent Awards are its press signatures.

Distinctiveness: Paris's lifestyle-design marketplace: more curated and trend-led than the German goods fairs, with the September edition fused to Paris Design Week across the city.

Access / entry: Trade only, by paid badge with professional verification. Exhibiting is by application to SAFI, whose selection committee curates sectors; the MOM (Maison & Objet and More) platform extends exhibiting online year-round.

Website: maison-objet.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Named gaps: (1) SAFI executive leadership not verified in this pass; (2) scale is organiser-reported round numbers without an edition-specific audited release. Both are flagged rather than filled by inference.

32. SALONE DEL MOBILE.MILANO — MILAN, ITALY

Founded 1961 · Furniture and design

Calendar / next edition: Annual, April (six days, Tuesday–Sunday). Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Organizer: FederlegnoArredo Eventi S.p.A. — events company of FederlegnoArredo, the Italian wood-and-furnishing federation

Organizer leadership: Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano; Marco Sabetta, General Manager of Salone del Mobile.Milano. Per the Salone's official 2025 press materials and closing release (salonemilano.it).

Venue: Fiera Milano Rho

Scale (as published): Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025 (63rd edition; organiser's closing release): 302,548 visitors ('presences'), 68% of them foreign professionals from 151 countries; 2,103 exhibitors from 37 countries; SaloneSatellite separately drew 39,000 visitors and 700 participants. NOTE: the organiser counts 'presences' (visits), not unique visitors — see notes.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: furniture, lighting (Euroluce in odd years), workplace and kitchen brands, plus 700 emerging designers at SaloneSatellite. Attendees: architects, interior designers, retailers, specifiers and — on the weekend days — the design public.

Media / press: One of the largest design-media operations in the world: thousands of accredited journalists, and a Cultural Programme that makes the fair a news event beyond the trade.

Distinctiveness: The world's pre-eminent furniture fair and the centre of Milan Design Week: the trade fair at Rho plus several hundred Fuorisalone events across the city make it design's annual capital.

Access / entry: Trade registration on the professional days; the general public is admitted on the weekend days by paid ticket. Exhibiting is by application through FederlegnoArredo Eventi, with SaloneSatellite curated for under-35 designers.

Website: salonemilano.it · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Counting-method flag: the Salone's headline 302,548 is 'presences' over six days. Its 2024 edition reported a higher headline (around 360,000 presences in some coverage) on a different biennial mix (EuroCucina/FTK year) — figures across years are not strictly like-for-like.

33. LIGHT + BUILDING — FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY

Founded 2000 · Lighting and building-services technology

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: lighting manufacturers, electrical-engineering, home-and-building automation and security-technology companies. Attendees: architects, lighting designers, electrical contractors, planners and facility managers.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; the Luminale lighting festival in Frankfurt and Offenbach historically accompanies the fair (city programme).

Distinctiveness: The world's leading fair for lighting and building technology — the one event where decorative lighting design and building-services engineering share a floor, anchored by the German electrical industry (ZVEI/ZVEH patronage).

Access / entry: Trade visitors only, by paid ticket with professional registration. Exhibiting is sold by Messe Frankfurt by product sector.

Website: light-building.messefrankfurt.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Calendar / next edition: Annual, mid-March (four days). Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Organizer: RX France — French arm of RX (RELX plc exhibitions division)

Access / entry: Trade only, by paid delegate registration (premium-priced); exhibiting (stands, pavilions, yacht berths) is sold by RX France.

Website: mipim.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Founded 1980 (as The Big 5) · Construction and building

Calendar / next edition: Annual, late November (four days) at DWTC; the show is listed among DWTC's flagship Q4 2026 events. Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Organizer: dmg events — international exhibitions and publishing company (part of the Daily Mail and General Trust group, DMGT)

Organizer leadership: Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events (quoted in that title across dmg's 2026 releases, including ADIPEC 2026). Per dmg events releases, October 2026. See research notes on verification tier.

Venue: Dubai World Trade Centre (Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre)

Scale (as published): Organiser-reported (dmg events): recent Dubai editions have drawn more than 85,000 attendees and some 2,800 exhibitors from 165+ countries. No edition-specific audited release was consulted in this pass — see research notes (named gap).

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: building-materials, HVAC, solar, interiors and construction-technology companies across five co-located sector events. Attendees: contractors, developers, architects, engineers and distributors from the MEASA region.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; CPD-certified talks and the Big 5 Impact Awards anchor trade coverage.

Distinctiveness: The Middle East's construction marketplace since 1980: the entry point to Gulf project pipelines, run in the heart of the region's building boom and now geo-cloned across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya and beyond.

Access / entry: Trade only, by registration with industry verification (free for trade visitors). Exhibiting is sold by dmg events by sector hall.

Website: big5global.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Scale is organiser-reported round numbers without an edition-specific audited release in the sources consulted — flagged as a gap rather than presented as audited. Big 5 Global is the renamed Dubai flagship of the Big 5 brand (renamed from The Big 5 in 2023).

37. ADIPEC — ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Founded 1984 · Energy (oil, gas and the energy transition)

Calendar / next edition: Annual, November (four days); ADIPEC 2026 runs 2–5 November 2026 at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi.

Organizer: dmg events — international exhibitions and publishing company (DMGT group); hosted by ADNOC, under the patronage of the President of the UAE

Organizer leadership: Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, the organiser of ADIPEC (quoted in that title in ADIPEC's October 2026 releases). Host side: ADNOC is the host company. Per ADIPEC/dmg events releases, 22 October 2026.

Venue: ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi

Scale (as published): ADIPEC 2026 (organiser's published expectations, October 2026, for the 2–5 November 2026 edition): 2,250 exhibiting companies, 239,000 attendees expected, 1,800+ speakers across 380+ sessions. These are pre-show figures for an edition that had not yet opened at compilation — see notes.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: national and international oil companies, energy-technology and service companies, maritime and digital-energy providers across 17 halls and specialised zones (AI, decarbonisation, maritime). Attendees: energy ministers, C-suite executives, engineers and investors.

Media / press: Accredited media programme at scale; ADIPEC's strategic conference is a fixture of global energy-news coverage, and its 2026 edition launched the ADIPEC Global Energy Report.

Distinctiveness: The world's largest energy exhibition and conference by attendance: hosted by a national oil company in its capital, it is where energy ministers and supermajor CEOs share stages — part trade fair, part energy summit.

Access / entry: Trade and industry by registration: free exhibition visitor pass with industry verification; paid delegate passes for the strategic/technical conferences. Exhibiting is sold by dmg events, with national pavilions and NOC stands allocated centrally.

Website: adipec.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Timing caution: at compilation (22 Oct 2026) the 2026 scale figures are the organiser's published expectations, not results. ADIPEC's growth claim (239,000 expected) would make it the largest energy event ever staged; the closing release should be checked against these numbers for the next edition of this guide.

38. BEAUTYWORLD MIDDLE EAST — DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Founded 1996 · Beauty and wellbeing products

Calendar / next edition: Annual, late October / early November (three days). Next edition dates as published on the show's official website.

Organizer leadership: Wolfgang Marzin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Messe Frankfurt (group); Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt. Per Messe Frankfurt corporate press releases 2025–2026 (messefrankfurt.com). The Dubai show team's own directorship was not named in the sources consulted.

Venue: Dubai World Trade Centre (Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre)

Scale (as published): Beautyworld Middle East 2024 (Messe Frankfurt closing figures, as reported in trade press): more than 2,000 exhibitors from 68 countries and some 70,000 trade visitors from 150+ countries. See research notes on verification tier.

Distinctiveness: The largest beauty trade fair in the Middle East and the gateway to the Gulf's fragrance-led beauty market — the largest of Messe Frankfurt's Beautyworld editions (Dubai, Japan, Saudi Arabia).

Access / entry: Trade only, by registration with industry verification (free for trade visitors). Exhibiting is sold by Messe Frankfurt Middle East, with country pavilions.

Website: beautyworld.messefrankfurt.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Scale figures rest on Messe Frankfurt closing-release numbers as carried by trade press — flagged in research notes.

39. WATCHES AND WONDERS GENEVA — GENEVA, SWITZERLAND

Founded 2022 (as Watches and Wonders Geneva; successor format to SIHH, founded 1991) · Fine watchmaking

Calendar / next edition: Annual, late March / April (seven days: four professional days, then three public days). The 2026 edition ran in April 2026 (public days 18–20 April 2026). Next edition dates not yet published in the official sources consulted for this entry.

Organizer: Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation (WWGF) — non-profit foundation created in September 2022 by Rolex, Richemont and Patek Philippe; Chanel, Hermes and LVMH joined the Foundation Board in 2024

Organizer leadership: Matthieu Humair, Chief Executive Officer of the WWGF (per the Foundation's own site, 2026). CHAIRMANSHIP DISCREPANCY: the WWGF's own 'About us' page (consulted October 2026) names Jean-Frederic Dufour as Chairman and Nicolas Bos as Vice-Chairman; watch-trade reporting from 2025 states Dufour's two-year term ended and Cartier CEO Cyrille Vigneron succeeded him as chairman. The Foundation's page and the trade reporting cannot both be current — see research notes.

Venue: Palexpo, Geneva

Scale (as published): 2026 edition (WWGF): 65 exhibiting brands per the Foundation's own About page ('nearly 60,000 visitors attending 2026 — a record'); DISCREPANCY: the Foundation's 2026 expansion announcements and trade coverage put the 2026 brand count at 66 (including 11 new brands). 2025 comparative: nearly 55,000 visitors from 125 nationalities.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: some 65 fine-watch maisons (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Chanel, Hermes, LVMH houses and independents in the Carre des Horlogers). Attendees: retailers, distributors, media and collectors; the last three days are open to the ticketed public.

Media / press: Accredited media programme of the first rank: global watch press launches centre on the salon; the LAB showcases watch-tech startups.

Distinctiveness: Fine watchmaking's single global stage, owned by its own exhibitors through a foundation of rival groups (Rolex, Richemont, Patek Philippe, LVMH, Chanel, Hermes) — a governance model with no parallel in this guide; the 'In the City' programme turns Geneva itself into the venue.

Access / entry: Professional days are invitation/accreditation-only for retailers, partners and media; public days are ticketed (sold by the Foundation). Exhibiting is by invitation of the Exhibiting Committee, not open sale.

Website: watchesandwonders.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website (exhibiting is by invitation through the Foundation's Exhibiting Committee)

Two flagged discrepancies (chairmanship; 65 vs 66 brands for 2026) — both arise between the Foundation's own pages and trade reporting; the guide prints both rather than resolving them silently. The chairmanship rotation (two-year terms among founding-group CEOs) is the likely explanation for the stale official page.

40. AGRITECHNICA — HANOVER, GERMANY

Founded 1985 · Agricultural machinery and crop production

Calendar / next edition: Biennial, November (odd years); the 2025 edition was held 9–15 November 2025. Next edition officially published: 14–20 November 2027, Hanover.

Organizer: DLG — Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft (German Agricultural Society), a non-profit professional society; staged by its exhibitions arm (DLG Markets) at Deutsche Messe's Hanover grounds

Organizer leadership: Hubertus Paetow, President of the DLG (quoted in that title opening Agritechnica 2025, DLG releases, November 2025); Tobias Eichberg, Managing Director of DLG Markets GmbH, quoted for the show's closing assessment. The DLG's chief executive was not named in the DLG Agritechnica releases consulted — see research notes.

Venue: Hannover Exhibition Grounds (Messegelande Hannover)

Scale (as published): Agritechnica 2025 (DLG closing release): 2,849 exhibitors from 52 countries and around 476,000 professional visitors from 171 countries, across 23 halls (24 including Systems & Components). Pre-show expectation had been 2,700–2,800 exhibitors and 430,000 visitors — the closing figures exceeded both.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: tractor and harvesting-machinery manufacturers, precision-farming and robotics companies, and the supplier industry (Systems & Components). Attendees: farmers, contractors, dealers and machinery cooperatives — explicitly investment-minded professional visitors.

Media / press: More than 1,600 journalists and influencers from 55 countries covered the 2025 edition (DLG figure); an Innovation and Press Day opens the week.

Distinctiveness: The world's largest agricultural-machinery fair and the largest indoor trade fair of any kind by hall count: the biennial launch platform for global farm machinery, organised by a farmers' society rather than a commercial fair company.

Access / entry: Professional-visitor fair with themed days (Agribusiness Days, International Farmers Day, Young Professionals Day); tickets sold by visitor category, with the final 'Celebrate Farming Day' widening access. Exhibiting is sold by DLG by product sector.

Website: agritechnica.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

Venue/organiser distinction worth printing: Agritechnica is a DLG show staged at Deutsche Messe's grounds — Deutsche Messe CEO Jochen Kockler himself began as Agritechnica's project director at DLG. DLG chief-executive naming is a flagged gap in the releases consulted.

41. DRUPA — DUSSELDORF, GERMANY

Founded 1951 · Printing technologies and print media

Calendar / next edition: Quadrennial (four-year cycle). Next edition officially published: 9–17 May 2028 in Dusseldorf — shortened to nine days (the 2024 edition ran eleven). Exhibitor registration for 2028 opened with a deadline of 31 October 2026 (drupa.com).

Organizer: Messe Dusseldorf GmbH — trade-fair company majority-owned by the City of Dusseldorf

Organizer leadership: Wolfram N. Diener, President & CEO of Messe Dusseldorf, holds direct responsibility for drupa within the management board (per Messe Dusseldorf's 2024 portfolio restructure, which moved drupa to the CEO's own portfolio); Dr Andreas Plesske, Chairman of the drupa committee (and CEO of Koenig & Bauer AG). Per drupa.com and Messe Dusseldorf releases 2024–2026.

Venue: Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre (Messe Dusseldorf)

Scale (as published): drupa 2024 (Messe Dusseldorf closing figures, as reported in trade press): 1,643 exhibitors from 52 countries and around 170,000 trade visitors. MINOR DISCREPANCY: visitor country counts are given as 173 and 174 countries in different reputable reports of the same closing figures — see research notes.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: printing-press, prepress/software, paper, ink and finishing manufacturers, packaging printers and brand owners. Attendees: print and packaging executives — 76% of 2024 visitors were top or middle management (Messe Dusseldorf).

Media / press: Accredited media programme; running machinery demonstrations make drupa a set-piece of industrial photojournalism.

Distinctiveness: The 'Olympics of printing': a quadrennial world fair where entire production lines run live in the halls; its four-year drumbeat has structured the print industry's investment cycle since 1951.

Access / entry: Trade visitors only, by paid ticket with professional registration. Exhibiting for 2028 is by registration (deadline 31 October 2026) with stand allocation by Messe Dusseldorf.

Website: drupa.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website (2028 registration portal at drupa.com)

Cycle note (as briefed): drupa returned to its four-year cycle after the pandemic gap (2016→2024); the 2028 edition is confirmed at nine days, 9–17 May 2028. The 2024 visitor figure (around 170,000) was well below 2016's 260,000 — a decline the organiser attributes to industry consolidation and shorter stays, and the stated reason for shortening the show.

42. K — INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR FOR PLASTICS AND RUBBER (K) — DUSSELDORF, GERMANY

Founded 1952 · Plastics and rubber industry

Calendar / next edition: Triennial (three-year cycle), October. K 2025 was held 8–15 October 2025. The next edition follows in 2028; exact dates not confirmed in the official sources consulted for this entry.

Organizer: Messe Dusseldorf GmbH — trade-fair company majority-owned by the City of Dusseldorf

Organizer leadership: Messe Dusseldorf Management Board: Wolfram N. Diener, President & CEO; Marius J. Berlemann, Managing Director Operations / COO (portfolio includes K); Bernhard J. Stempfle, Managing Director Finance & Infrastructure. Per Messe Dusseldorf releases 2024–2026.

Venue: Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre (Messe Dusseldorf) — all 18 halls plus outdoor areas

Scale (as published): K 2025 (Messe Dusseldorf group release): more than 3,000 exhibitors and over 175,000 trade visitors, occupying all 18 halls and the open-air grounds.

Who exhibits & attends: Exhibitors: machinery and equipment makers, raw-material producers and semi-finished/technical-parts manufacturers from the plastics and rubber value chain. Attendees: processors, converters, OEM engineers and buyers — 2025's audience was drawn from the global plastics industry at a 70%+ international share typical for K.

Media / press: Accredited media programme; K's special show (organised with Plastics Europe and the VDMA) anchors coverage of the circular-economy debate.

Distinctiveness: The world's No. 1 trade fair for plastics and rubber since 1952: the triennial edition at which the industry launches machinery generations and where the circular-economy argument is fought out in public.

Access / entry: Trade visitors only, by paid ticket with professional registration. Exhibiting is sold by Messe Dusseldorf by product category, with machinery halls allocated years ahead.

Website: k-online.com · Contact: Exhibitor enquiries via the show's official website

K 2025's figures are stated in Messe Dusseldorf's group reporting in round terms ('more than 3,000 exhibitors; over 175,000 trade visitors'); a more precise FKM-certified count was not published in the sources consulted — flagged in research notes.

NAMED GAPS

Four fairs publish no edition-specific audited scale usable to this guide's standard — the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (a four-fair cluster total only), CPHI, Big 5 Global and GITEX Global — and WHX Dubai 2026 and ADIPEC 2026 carry pre-show expectations only, labelled as such. Three organiser leaderships could not be verified and are deliberately unnamed: SAFI (Maison & Objet) at executive level, the Dubai World Trade Centre's Director General, and the DLG's chief executive. The chairmanship of the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation is disputed between the Foundation's own site and 2025 trade reporting; the conflict is flagged in the entry, unresolved.

Compiled October 2026 from organiser sources and reputable trade press. Discrepancies between sources — among them bauma's rival exhibitor counts inside Messe München's own materials, and the Paris Air Show's pre- and post-show totals — are flagged in the individual entries and collected in the README accompanying the master data file (CSV) in the LIKE® Trade Shows department records.
